NMTU MERIT SYSTEM ORDINANCE CASE

COURT REOPENS NMTU MERIT SYSTEM CASE

At a November 15, 2007, hearing on NMTU's Motion to re-open the case and enforce the Settlement Agreement, District Judge Geraldine Rivera questioned why City managers responsible for running the City weren't doing their jobs.  Judge Rivera was responding to a City report on compliance with the Performance Evaluation section of the Settlement Agreement between the NMTU and the City.  She re-opened the case, granted permission to amend the prior complaint, ordered the City to complete its performance evaluations by the end of January, 2008, and said that City managers would be required to come to Court early next year to explain why they weren't doing their jobs.
